Key Information
Location: Prairie Spirit School Division covers approximately 6000 km2 of south-centreal Manitoba. The central office is located in the town of Pilot Mound. We are located within an hour of Manitoba‘s two major cities, Brandon and Winnipeg.
Accommodation Options: Homestay.
Health Insurance Requirement: All International Students staying in Manitoba must get Health/Medical Insurance. The approximate cost is $500.00. A second form, the Release Form is to be signed and completed by the parent or legal guardian and returned to the Prairie Spirit School Division. This form gives permission to Prairie Spirit and the Homestay Family to secure medical advice and treatment as may be deemed necessary for the health and safety of the student.
Student Population: There are approximately 2,300 students in our division and with an average of 15 international students enroled. On average, there are 160 teachers employed. The school enrolments range from 10 students in a small school to 250 students in a larger Kindergarten to Grade 12 public school.
Study Periods: Classes take place Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. from the beginning of September until the end of June. High school students follow a semester system with 4 blocks/courses scheduled every day. There is a two-week break for Christmas and a one-week Spring break near the end of March.

The Manitoba curriculum is offered by all of our schools. Our high schools offer a wide variety of courses of which many are supplemented through our Distance Education programs.
Prairie Spirit School Division enjoys a unique partnership with the University of Winnipeg facilitating a smooth transition from high school to university.
Tuition and Fees
The following fees are based on a 10-month stay from the beginning of September until the end of June. Short-term stays are available.
Application fee, non-refundable: $100.00
Homestay Fee for full academic year at $550/month: $5500.00
Tuition Fee for full academic year at $1000/month: $10,000.00
Medical Insurance: $500.00
